John Fogerty last performed at the Encore Theater with a six-show residency between Nov. 9 and 19, 2022, after postponing previous shows scheduled between February 23 and March 5, 2022, for unspecified reasons.
John Fogerty canceled shows in the past
The “Old Man Down the Road” singer had also canceled nine shows scheduled for Nov. 4-21, 2020, at the Encore due to the Covid-19 pandemic and rescheduled them for October 2021.
In January 2023, Fogerty secured majority control of his music by acquiring the majority interest in his worldwide publishing rights.
The Grammy-award-winning singer-songwriter has been recognized by Rolling Stone as one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists, 100 Greatest Songwriters, and 100 Greatest Singers.
Additionally, he has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Las Vegas has long been a popular destination for classic rock and roll headliners.
After their national tours wind down and they slip off the charts, many of these stars find themselves gracing the packed showrooms of Vegas for residencies or shorter engagements.
A successful run in Vegas can often keep them away from the summer fair circuit for some time.
John Fogerty joined by Rod Stewart and Van Morrison for Vegas Residencies
In September 2023, Van Morrison had a short three-show residency at Planet Hollywood, a Caesars Entertainment subsidiary.
Rod Stewart, the legendary rock star, started his “Hits” residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in 2011 and recently concluded the show on August 7, 2024, after 200 performances over 13 years.
However, Rod Stewart will be back for six shows in March 2025 and another six shows in May and June 2025 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for his new “The Encore Shows Las Vegas Residency.”
The South Point Hotel Casino & Spa, located south of the Strip on South Las Vegas Boulevard, is renowned for showcasing classic rock and roll acts from the 1960s in its showroom.
In 2023, the South Point hosted iconic stars such as The Lettermen, Jay and the Americans, The Righteous Brothers, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, and Gary Lewis and the Playboys.
Additionally, Herman’s Hermits, featuring the original lead singer Peter Noone, graced the South Point stage last year.
Peter Noone will return to the hotel-casino for a short residency from September 27-29, offering affordable tickets for $55.
