Soon enough, the hope is that NBA expansion will arrive and at least two cities will get new organizations for their respective cities. On one hand, people have been calling for the league to return to Seattle after the SuperSonics moved to Oklahoma City. What about Sin City? Well, a lot of people are talking about this and even an NBA coach thinks Las Vegas deserves an expansion team.
That’s right, before the regular season got started, some preseason action was taking place in Las Vegas. Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd was on hand and you could tell that he was enjoying his return trip to the area. So much in fact that in a recent interview, he didn’t hide his opinion on what he thinks about Vegas one day getting a team. Yup, he’d be all for it.
“I think it’s great to be here in Vegas,” Kidd said. “We talk about a sports town — you have the Aces who’ve won championships, you have the Knights in hockey, baseball’s on its way, and then the Raiders here. The only thing missing is the NBA. Hopefully, at some point, that happens. The fans here love basketball, they understand it, so we’re lucky to be able to play here tomorrow.”
For now, it’s totally unknown when or if Las Vegas is going to be getting a team. It feels like things would go hand in hand with Seattle, but there are still a lot of unknowns here. Should Las Vegas get a team, it would no question have an impact on the local sports betting in the area. Only time will tell if that happens or not, but it’s something that plenty of people sure are hoping for.
NBA betting is off to a strong start this season in Las Vegas
While we wait to see in terms of an expansion, keep in mind that NBA betting is off to a strong start this season in Las Vegas. After winning the title last season, the Oklahoma City Thunder are off to a great start once again, which isn’t a surprise at all. The Thunder currently hold the best NBA Vegas betting odds to win the Finals, with the top sports betting sites confident in their game. The team’s confidence is riding high too.
“We’re a better team today than we were 13 games ago. The thing is we have the maturity to understand there’s 70 more games,” Coach Mark Daigneault said recently. “And the rest of the league is gonna continue to evolve and improve, and we have to do that to pace with the rest of the league. The guys have done a great job carrying that mindset for a long time but we have to carry that mindset despite the fact we’ve had early success.”
Looking to get in the betting action too? This is our time to remind you that the sportsbooks that we work with are offering up some great deals for people to look at. This includes the BetOnline promo codes and promotions, which people love. With the NBA season now in full swing, it’s a great time for people to check out the odds and place wagers. BetOnline alone is one of the top Las Vegas Online Casinos out there too.
As for the action on the hardwood, the Thunder indeed are the betting favorites, but it’s not going to be easy for them to do so. While they hold an impressive +175 odds to win the title, there’s still a ton of time left until the postseason gets here and other squads are going to want to make a run. It will be interesting to see how things go down there.
NFL betting is also strong in Las Vegas midway through the campaign
Switching gears a bit there, it’s important to note that NFL betting is also strong in Las Vegas midway through the campaign. This is what everyone was expecting, especially with so many great games already being showcased. Taking a look at things from a local standpoint, there’s always going to be interest in the Raiders, as they feature a ton of talent.
However, it has been an inconsistent year for the AFC West team, with the offense struggling at times. Geno Smith is still the starting quarterback, but he needs to improve. What helps him is that tight end Brock Bowers is back to full health and he’s been incredible to watch. Will the Raiders be able to turn the season around and sneak into the postseason?
Who knows, but they’re not considered a top contender. Per the oddsmakers, the Chiefs hold the best Super Bowl betting odds, but the Eagles are right behind them. If those two teams meet in the Super Bowl again, people would love it and Vegas would no doubt be packed for people watching that game at local casinos and restaurants. Only time will tell if that happens or not.
