Kansas City has been one of the hottest teams in the Majors of late, pulling to within 1.5 games of first in the AL Central behind the Detroit Tigers thanks to a six-game winning streak. San Francisco has lost three straight games, falling to 3.5 games out of first in the NL West behind the Dodgers. Both of these teams have playoff aspirations, specifically as division champions. We are going to back the host Royals as they stay hot and sweep the Giants at home Sunday.
Royals ask Danny Duffy to secure the series sweep
Duffy has thrown five straight starts in which he has allowed either one or zero runs, lowering his season ERA to 2.39. He has a record of 6-10 despite this impressive ERA due to a lack of run support earlier in the year. He will take the hill today to face the Giants. At home, Duffy has limited opposing hitters to a .189 batting average this year, which is good for fourth-best in the Major Leagues.
Giants still afloat despite recent struggles
Even though the Giants have lost three straight games and are in danger of being swept today, they have somehow stayed within striking distance of the Dodgers in the NL West. San Francisco will ask former ace Tim Lincecum to end their losing streak Sunday. He has a record of 9-7 with an ERA of 4.22 this year. Lincecum has struggled since the All-Star break, going 0-2 with an ERA of 7.40 in four starts.
On Sunday afternoon, the Royals will look to move even closer to first in the AL Central when they go for the sweep of the Giants at home. We will place our bets at TopBet.eu, where the Royals are favored at home. We will bet 10 percent of our bankroll on the Royals and the -150 money line as they drop the Giants for a third straight game.
