The Tampa Bay Buccaneers started the season well, but the team is not looking great heading into Week 12. One thing fans and pundits can point to when it comes to Tampa Bay is injuries on the offensive side of the ball. Running back Bucky Irving and receiver Chris Godwin Jr. have been out. Irving has missed six games in a row because of foot and shoulder injuries, while Godwin has only played two games this year while dealing with a fibula injury. Both players practiced last week, so there is some hope they could return. As for Mike Evans, who has a broken collarbone, he is not close to returning after surgery. Sean Tucker had a good game on the ground in Week 11, rushing for 106 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries, and picking up a receiving TD.
While those injuries could explain some of the team’s offensive woes, they rank 17th in yards per game (332.2), 15th in passing yards (222.2), and 22nd in rushing yards (110.0). The defense does not have that built-in excuse. The Buccaneers’ defense has been strong on the ground, but is struggling against pass-heavy competition, where they rank near the bottom of the league, giving up 241.6 yards per game. The Rams have the sixth most yards per game through the air (246.9), so that’s a worry for Tampa Bay.
The Bucs have been in this spot before, enduring mid-season slips over the past three years, so the team won’t be overly tight this week.
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is the new betting favorite to win the 2025 NFL MVP award following the team’s win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 11. The team is also the betting favorite at some sportsbooks to win the Super Bowl.
Stafford did not have his best game of the season against Seattle, throwing for 130 yards and two touchdowns, but he did lead the team to a gritty victory. The win over Seattle showed that the Rams are more than an active passing game and that the team has the ability to adjust on the fly to what their opponents are showing them. Teams like that are the clubs that win championships.
Wide receiver Davante Adams said of the offense’s play against the Seahawks, “It makes you feel even better knowing that you can play like crap, like what we feel [we did on] offense, and still come out with a victory against a really good team.”
The Los Angeles passing defense stepped up in Week 11, picking up four interceptions, their most in a game since Week 16 of the 2022 season. However, overall, the team allowed 414 yards, 26 first downs, and a 7-for-16 success rate on third-down conversions, which is a concern.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Los Angeles Rams Betting Picks and Predictions
The week 12 Sunday Night Football game between the Bucs and the Rams features two aggressive quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Baker Mayfield. Mayfield has kept Tampa Bay afloat in the past few games, despite the team’s missing important pieces on offense. With Stafford having a deeper set of offensive weapons to utilize, look for the Rams to win.
The betting pick is for the Los Angeles Rams to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12.
Going with the assumption that the Bucs will be missing some of their offensive tools in Week 12. The betting pick is for the Rams to cover on Sunday Night Football.
