A matchup between the two top teams in the NFC North takes place during Week 16 of the 2025-26 NFL season. On Saturday, December 20, the Green Bay Packers make the trip to Soldier Field to face the Chicago Bears. Saturday’s FOX game is the second of two meetings between the clubs this year. In Week 14, the Packers defeated the Bears 28-21 at home.
The Green Bay Packers are the No. 2 team in the NFC North with a 9-4-1 record. Green Bay was on a four-game winning streak heading into Week 15. The team lost to the streaking Denver Broncos in that game, falling 34-26 on the road. Making matters worse, the Packers lost defensive star Micah Parsons to a torn ACL in the setback.
The Chicago Bears are in the top spot in the NFC North with a 10-4-0 mark. Chicago is 6-1 in its past seven games. The team’s only loss during that stretch was to the Packers on the road. Chicago has not lost a home game since it dropped the season opener to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1 of the season.
If the NFL playoffs started today, the Packers and Bears would both be in.

Green Bay Packer Betting Breakdown
The Green Bay Packers’ Week 15 loss was costly. Not only did the defeat to the Broncos knock the Packers out of the top spot in the NFC North, but it also cost them one of the best defensive players in the NFL, Micah Parsons, who was injured with what we now know was a torn ACL. With Parsons out, Rashan Gary will be the player to watch on defense for the Packers. He is a powerful player who could have a big game against the Bears’ tackles.
Another player the Packers lost against Denver was Christian Watson. Watson is questionable for Week 16. If he does not play, the Packers lose a deep threat at wide receiver. Watson is third on the team in receiving yards, but is averaging 17.2 yards per catch.
The Packers forced 31 turnovers last season. This year, they have 13 turnovers. Meanwhile, the Bears have the second-fewest giveaways in the league. Green Bay needs to find a way to create turnovers in this game without the pressure of Parsons. In Week 14, the Packers had one interception and did not recover the only fumble of the game. If the Bears control the ball like that in Week 16, it could be a problem for Green Bay.
The pressure is on both the Green Bay offense and defense in this game, but the player who will be the focus will be Jordan Love. He will need to carry the team on the road in Week 16.
The Chicago Bears might have beaten the Packers in their first meeting of the season if the team had had a few more minutes. The Chicago rushing game was tiring out the Green Bay defense. In the second half of that game, the Bears picked up 244 total yards, 18 points, and reached the red zone on all four of their drives. With the way Green Bay faded against Denver, Chicago’s best bet is to have a game plan that is very similar to that attack, with perhaps more focus on the rushing game early. If the Bears can sap the opposition defense’s energy early, it could pay bigger dividends in the second half of Week 16.
The Bears should also look to receiver Luther Burden III during this game. With leading receiver Rome Odunzenursing a foot injury, Burden was the top receiver in Chicago’s Week 15 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, with six receptions for 84 yards, going 40 yards for his longest gain of the game. With Parsons out of the lineup, Caleb Williamsshould have more time to find open receivers downfield.
The Bears are coming off a great offensive game against the Browns, who were the No. 2 defense in the NFL. Don’t expect a let-up against the Packers without Parsons.
Head coach Ben Johnson said the Bears would play their best in December, and they are.
