Call of Duty League Stage 3 Major qualifying continues this weekend. Last Sunday, the Minnesota Rokkr eased up a bit, yet clinched a 3-2 victory against the struggling Boston Breach during the Call of Duty League’s Stage 3 Major qualifying match. This weekend they take on LA Guerillas and Los Angles Thieves in two more exciting match ups.
What? 2024 Call of Duty League Stage 3 Major Qualifying
Ahead of the Stage 3 Major, scheduled for May 16-19 in Toronto, all 12 CDL teams are poised to engage in seven qualifying matches each. These contests hold significant weight in establishing seeding for the double-elimination tournament, where all teams will progress.
Securing a win in each qualifier grants a team 10 points. Although details regarding the tournament’s prize pool, inclusive of both monetary rewards and CDL points, remain undisclosed.
The Toronto Ultra secured the Stage 1 Major title in January, while the Atlanta FaZe emerged triumphant in the Stage 2 Major.
Minnesota ROKKR
Last Sunday Minnesota dominated in the first two maps, propelling the Rokkr to a commanding 2-0 lead and placing Boston in a precarious position. However, the Breach mounted a comeback with a resounding 3-0 triumph on Karachi Control. This was followed by a narrow 250-230 win on Vista Hardpoint, leveling the score. Yet, Minnesota rallied, clinching a 6-5 victory on Search and Destroy to secure their qualifying position and drop Boston to 0-2.
France’s Thomas “Lyynnz” Gregorio played a pivotal role for the Rokkr, amassing a match-high 97 kills and finishing with an impressive plus-1.20 kill-death ratio. Meanwhile, Englishman Ben “Beans” McMellon contributed 86 kills for Boston.
Next up, Rokkr take on LA Guerillas and Los Angles Thieves. I am predicting a 3-1 win to Rokkr in their match with Guerillas. The odds for a 3-1 win are +220

New York Subliners
The New York Subliners faced disappointment over the weekend, unable to secure victories in their matches against both the Seattle Surge and the Carolina Royal Ravens, contrary to expectations at the start of the weekend.
Their upcoming challenge against the favored Atlanta FaZe presents a tough task to clinch a win.
One of the most astonishing outcomes from last weekend was Atlanta FaZe’s dominant 3-0 victory over the Toronto Ultra. It wasn’t just a narrow win. FaZe displayed sheer dominance, leaving Toronto with little room to maneuver in each round of the series. Toronto Ultra appeared outmatched against Atlanta FaZe, who still maintain a significant lead in the CDL standings.
I expect a very comfortable win for FaZe. A 3-0 win can be found at odds of +240
OpTic Texas emerged as the sole team to achieve a flawless record this past weekend. Despite facing a significant defeat in the grand final of Major II, OpTic Texas remains a strong presence, effortlessly gaining momentum. The synergy within the team, particularly evident between Pred and Shotzzy, is remarkable. With each match, they exude a contagious sense of enjoyment and camaraderie, reflecting positively in their gameplay. This chemistry translates into their performance on the field, fueling high expectations that the squad will claim a championship title this season.
OpTic Texas are massive favorites for their next match against Miami Heretics. A 3-0 win can be found at odds of +110.
