In the 1980s and 1990s, comedy clubs began to open within casinos. The Improv originally opened at the Riviera in the 1980s before moving to Harrah’s in the 1990s, and Catch a Rising Star opened at Bally’s in the 1980s before moving to the MGM Grand in the 1990s.
Today, several comedians have regular residencies on the Strip. Carrot Top has headlined at the Luxor since 2005 and has extended his contract until 2028.

Jerry Seinfeld, one of the biggest names in comedy, has had a long-running relationship with the Strip. He has announced his 100th show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Sept. 6 and will conclude his 2024 residency the following night.
However, he has revealed that he will return for a residency with a new show in 2025, with six weekend shows scheduled for May 2, 3, Sept. 5, 6, and Oct. 10 and 11, 2025.
Ticket sales have started and are available to the general public. Seinfeld has maintained consistent ticket prices over the years, and a limited amount of tickets are available for the remaining shows in 2024.
Seinfeld’s upcoming performance at the Colosseum will mark his sixth residency.
His last performance at the venue before 2023 was in 2019, as the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted his schedule. Seinfeld has continued performing nationwide and has been involved in various Netflix projects.

The Clark County commissioners recently approved permits for 600-foot towers on the Las Vegas Strip. The project will include a hotel tower, a residential tower, mixed-use retail, an entertainment arena, and a 439-foot amusement ride.
Interestingly, the project won’t include a casino, and it’s designed with a reduced emphasis on traditional parking infrastructure.
Instead, it will feature a connection to the Las Vegas Loop, a tunnel system that shuttles passengers using Tesla vehicles. The project also plans to reduce parking spaces, focusing on transportation alternatives.
Additionally, the residential tower is aimed at owners who will use the property as a second home, leading to adjustments in open space and parking requirements.
Phase 1 of the development will include a 750-room hotel tower, a shopping center, a recreational facility, an amusement ride, an event plaza, and restaurants. In contrast, Phase 2 will include a residential tower and an entertainment venue.
The project has generated excitement for the north end of the Strip. However, considerations and approvals are still needed for features such as bridges to Fontainebleau and a possible heliport on top of the towers.
Las Vegas is set to welcome its first independent world-class art museum by the end of 2028, as the city council approved the construction of the Las Vegas Museum of Art in Symphony Park.
The 90,000-square-foot building, designed by architect Francis Kéré, is expected to cost $200 million and feature artworks loaned from the L.A. County Museum of Art.
The project aims to revitalize the city’s arts scene, no longer leaving it as the largest U.S. city without an independent fine arts museum.
