Just last month, tennis fans across the planet were treated to a thrilling tournament, as Carlos Alcaraz was able to put on a show in the Australian Open, winning it all in thrilling fashion. Now, people can’t wait for the next exciting tournament and event to arrive soon. With all of that said, Carlos Alcaraz is the early favorite for the 2026 Indian Wells Open. Will he be able to come out on top?
That’s what everyone is wondering, as he has been on a complete and total tear in recent years. That’s right, there’s simply no question that Alcaraz is one of the top tennis players in the world and he’s going to want to make a statement the next time he participates in a big-time tourney. While there’s going to be a loaded field, he’ll of course have the confidence to do so after winning the Australian Open.
“It’s a dream come true for me,” Alcaraz said after winning in Australia. “Every year that I came here to Australia, I was thinking about getting the trophy. It couldn’t happen. Couldn’t go further than quarterfinals. Coming this year, hungry for more, ambitious for getting the trophy, and then just playing good tennis in this tournament means a lot. It means the world to me.”
According to the best sports betting sites, Alcaraz has been given +105 Las Vegas odds to win the Indian Wells Open. He holds the No. 1 tennis betting odds, but there’s of course going to be a ton of other tennis stars who are going to hope to take him down. That of course is not going to be easy. So, who’s going to end up winning the title?
Jannik Sinner is our early pick to win the Indian Wells Open this year
While we think that Alcaraz is going to make a ton of noise in the tournament, we’re going elsewhere with our selection. That’s right, Jannik Sinner is our early pick to win the Indian Wells Open this year and the Vegas oddsmakers seem to believe he also has a great opportunity to lift the silverware high into the sky once things get wrapped up here. Standing in his way will of course be Alcaraz.
“For me, it’s an honor to put my name on the history books,” Alcaraz added on winning the Australian Open last month. “I know I’m doing history with some trophies, some tournaments, some achievement that I’ve been getting. Sometimes you don’t stop yourself and think about what you’re doing. So right now, I’m just trying to have a time to realize what I’ve been doing.”
Interested in getting in on the betting action as well? We’d be remiss to not remind you that sportsbooks, including Bovada, BetOnline and others, offer up some pretty special promotions throughout the year to pique the interest of potential bettors. There will be special deals ahead of the Indian Wells Open too, which could entice people to sign up sooner rather than later to get some wagers in.
Back to the tennis action, Sinner has been given +150 betting odds per the top tennis betting sites to win the Indian Wells Open this season, which speaks to how close things could be between him and Alcaraz. In a dream world, these two standouts would meet in the final in what would surely prove to be a back-and-forth affair. We’d love to see that happen and if it does, we think that Sinner will be able to pull a fast one on his friendly rival.
Novak Djokovic and others will be ready to push for the title as well
While there’s going to be a ton of focus on Alcaraz and Sinner for the Indian Wells Open and understandably so, keep in mind that Novak Djokovic and others will be ready to push for the title as well. With Djokovic in particular, he’s going to want to perform at a high level once again after doing so at the Australian Open. His showing stood out and people are still talking about it.
In case you somehow missed it, he surprised a lot of people by posting some fantastic wins and reaching the final against Alcaraz. Unfortunately for Djokovic, he wasn’t able to pull off an upset win, with Alcaraz taking home the title. Despite that, Djokovic indeed was impressive and now he’s going to want to play at a high level once again while in California and with so many eyes on him.
He’s not the only one, as Alexander Zverev, Jack Draper, Joao Fonseca and others are going to be ready to impress as well. With so much talent on its way to Southern California, people are extremely fired up for this tournament to get here in March. Soon enough, a champion will be crowned. While we’re doubling down on Sinner to win, we’re also expecting some upsets to be posted on the way to the final as well.
