The ATP and WTA tennis tours head to London, England for the third Grand Slam of the season as we approach Wimbledon season for 2025.
In 2024 it was Carlos Alcaraz and Barbora Krejčíková who came out on top in their respective tournaments, and this year they will face fierce competition to retain their titles.
But who are the favorites? We’ll take a look at the top options in each of the men’s and ladies tournaments and provide you with our best free tennis betting picks to see if we can earn you some extra cash while you enjoy the action on the courts.
Despite missing three months of the calendar year for a doping suspension, world number one Jannik Sinner has returned to the courts with a vengeance so far.
Sinner returned to action in Rome where he reached the final but fell to defeat, before then making it all the way to the final at Roland Garros in the French Open, only to once again suffer defeat in one of the best Grand Slam finals of all-time, having failed to convert three Championship points against rival Alcaraz.
So far in 22 matches he has 19 wins in 2025, and Wimbledon is a tournament he has done well at in recent times. In 2023 he reached the semi-finals before a quarter-final elimination in 2024, but grass is his preferred surface to play on and he will come into this tournament in good shape.
While backing him would mean a first-time Wimbledon champion is crowned, it’s not out of the realms of possibility. However, he’s only been able to win one tournament so far this year as a result of his ban and winning a Grand Slam against the toughest opponents won’t be easy. At odds of +150, there isn’t enough value here.
Without a doubt the most in-form player in the world and the reigning, defending Wimbledon champion, Carlos Alcaraz is our pick to win the Men’s competition in 2025.
The Spaniard has won each of the last three tournaments he has entered – ATP Rome Masters, French Open and Queens – and has won 22 of his last 23 matches coming into this one.
Now a five-time Grand Slam champion, Alcaraz has won the last two editions of Wimbledon and has victories over all of his closest rivals on the biggest stage in recent times. No matter what the draw offers up for him, he will be the favorite in his match ups and his form makes it hard to look past him winning those games.
While +160 isn’t the best value for a player to win a Grand Slam, considering the fact he’s won so much recently and has a great history here, this is the man to back.
A three-time Grand Slam winner and the current world number one, Aryna Sabalenka is the rightful favorite heading into this year’s tournament.
Sabalenka has a 42-8 record for 2025 so far, and reached the French Open final before suffering defeat to Coco Gauff in a three-set thriller earlier this month. Since then she has also reached the semi-final of the Berlin Open too, meaning she is still in good form.
However, her previous appearances at Wimbledon have not been her best showings. Her first three appearances saw her fail to progress to the third round, but her most recent attempts have seen her reach the semi-finals in 2021 and 2023 while missing the 2022 and 2024 tournaments.
At odds of +275 as the world number one, there is good value in backing her to get back on track and claim a fourth Grand Slam title. She enjoys the grass surface and on her day she is capable of beating anyone, so this looks like a good bet.
21-year-old Coco Gauff has lit up the tennis world since breaking onto the scene as a school girl, and comes into this tournament on the back of winning her second Grand Slam title at the French Open this month.
Having struggled to cope after initially winning the US Open back in 2023, Gauff has now grown and progressed and is ranked as the number two player in the world. She suffered defeat in her first and only match since winning at Roland Garros, but that is a blip on the radar more than a major worry.
What is a worry though, is her previous form at Wimbledon where she has failed to progress past the fourth round in any of her five appearances so far, while she has also never won a singles title on grass in her young career.
That doesn’t mean she’s a dud for this tournament, because she’s still one of the best and constantly improving. But it does make it hard to back her for victory. At odds of +700 there is certainly value, but it’s a long shot.
