The 2025 Army vs. Navy game takes place on Saturday, December 13, from M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, MD. The Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy will be up for grabs when the Black Knights face the Midshipmen for the 126th meeting of the football teams. Navy holds the lead in the series with a 63-55-7 record over Army. Last year’s meeting ended with the Midshipmen beating the Black Knights 31-13.
Army enters Saturday’s game with a 6-5 mark, which puts them in sixth place in the American Conference. The team is coming off a 27-24 win over the UTSA Roadrunners on November 29. The Black Knights will face the UConn Huskies in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl in Boston on Saturday, December 27.
Navy brings a 9-2 record into Baltimore, which puts them tied for first place in the AAC. The team’s only losses came in back-to-back games in early November when they fell to North Texas and Notre Dame. The Midshipmen are on a two-game winning streak and are coming off a 28-17 win over the Memphis Tigers. Navy faces the Cincinnati Bearcats on Friday, January 2, in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl in Memphis. Navy is the No. 22 team in the AP Poll.

Army Black Knights Betting Breakdown
The Army Black Knights rely on their junior quarterback, Cale Hellums, for a good portion of their offense. Hellums, who played in every game on the Army schedule in 2025, threw for 504 yards on the season, connecting on 35 of his 69 attempts for three touchdowns. Hellums added a team-high 1,078 yards rushing on the year, scoring 15 touchdowns on the ground, on 264 carries. When Hellums does throw, his most effective target has been Brady Anderson, who had 350 yards and two touchdowns on 12 receptions. The most-used receiver is Noah Short, who had 22 catches for 279 yards and one touchdown.
Army’s run-heavy game plan allows them to effectively chew up the game clock. If they can extend possessions, the Black Knights have a chance to pull off an upset over Navy. However, the Midshipmen have been effective on rushing defense all year.
The Army defense has been sound this year. The team ranks third overall in the AAC, allowing 357 yards per game. They are third in passing defense (209.9 yards per game) but ninth in rushing defense (147.1 yards per game), one spot higher than Navy’s rushing defense
Navy was tied with North Texas and Tulane for first place in the American Athletic Conference. However, the Midshipmen did not get to play for the AAC title because Tulane was the highest-ranked team in the conference in the CFP Selection Committee rankings, and North Texas had a win over Navy. I doubt Navy needs any motivation heading into Saturday’s Army vs. Navy game, but if they do, missing out on a championship game might provide some inspiration.
Navy’s offense is led by quarterback Blake Horvath. Horvath, a senior, threw for 1,390 yards over the season, connecting on 81 of 131 attempts. Horvath missed the team’s November 8 game against Notre Dame after suffering an injury in the North Texas game the previous week. He had a completion percentage of 61.8 on the season, throwing for nine touchdowns and five interceptions. A dual threat, Horvath was fifth in the AAC in rushing with 1,040 yards on 174 carries, the second-best rushing yardage for a QB in the conference. He had 14 rushing TDs.
Look for Horvath to connect with Eli Heidenreich, who leads the team in receiving yards, [picking up 805 yards on 40 receptions. Heidenreich has four touchdowns.
Navy was No. 1 in the AAC in team rushing offense on the year, averaging 298.4 yards per game.
The Navy defense was in the bottom half of the conference in total yardsallowed per game at 398.7. The team was second worst on passing defense (255.5 yards per game), but fifth best in rushing D (143.2 yards per game).
Expect a ground battle in the 2025 Army vs. Navy game this weekend. While both teams are good at chewing up rushing yardage, Navy is the better team in that regard, and they have a quarterback who can throw the ball more effectively than Army.
The betting pick is for Navy to beat Army in the 2025 Army vs. Navy game.
With passing being the second option for both teams in this game, expect a low-scoring affair. Over the past 10 meetings between these teams, the highest combined score was 38 points.
The betting pick is that Army and Navy will combine for fewer than 38.5 points in the 2025 Army-Navy game.
