In the Tuesday NBA picks, we’re moving into the Play-In stage of the NBA playoffs. In the Western Conference, the Memphis Grizzlies travel to Golden State to face the Warriors with the No. 7 seed in the conference available to the winner.
These appear to be teams trending in opposite directions. Golden State is 22-8 straight up since trading to get Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies fired coach Tyler Jenkins last month after slumping from second overall in the West into a Play-In position.
It would appear that oddsmakers are also seeing the matchup from this perspective. It’s the hometown Warriors who are set as very solid 6.5-point favorites over the Grizzles.
Let’s check the latest betting line on this game. Remember, odds are always subject to change.

The NBA picks show that the total has gone under in four of the past five games played by the Grizzlies. Each of the last five road games played by Memphis have gone under. The under has also come in through six of the past 10 games between the Grizzlies and Western Conference opposition.
The over is 6-4 in Golden State’s past 10 games. At home, the under is 6-2 in Golden State’s last eight games. The over holds a slight 5-4 edge in the last nine games between the Warriors are Western Conference opposition.
Memphis is 8-21 SU as a betting underdog. The Grizzlies are 21-19-1 ATS as a road team. Golden State is 37-18 SU as the favorite in the betting line. The Warriors are 18-21-1 ATS on home court.
The Grizzlies tend to go as guard Ja Morant goes. He’s been himself of late. Morant is averaging 29.8 points per game since the beginning of March. He scored 36 points in the last meeting between these two teams. Oddly enough, though, in the lone win by Memphis this season over Golden State, Morant was held to nine points.
He gets support in the post from 6-foot-10 Jaren Jackson Jr. Jackson is showing 22.2 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game and 1.5 blocks per game. He can present size problems for the Warriors. Desmond Bane (19.2 ppg, 6.1 reb, 5.3 assists per game) is another Grizzlies player who’s been stepping up lately.
Golden State is a different team since adding Butler. He’s also a player with a playoff pedigree.

In today's epic Clippers/Warriors battle, ALL FOUR of Harden (39), Steph (36), Kawhi (33), & Jimmy (30) scored 30+ PTS!
It's the FIRST time in NBA history that 4 players scored 30+ in the same game on the last day of the regular season 🤯 pic.twitter.com/81xiQY2QMk
Butler averaged 24.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists while leading the Miami Heat to two Finals appearances over the past five years. Since coming to the Warriors, Butler is delivering per-game averages of 17.5 points, 5.8 assists and 5.7 rebounds.
Along with their 0-3 Play-In record, Golden State blew three straight chances to win a game at the end of the season and avoid the Play-In game.
Memphis is a much better offensive team (second in points per game, sixth in offensive rating) and shoots the three-ball more consistently than the Warriors do. Those 6.5 points are a lot to lay on a team that traditionally doesn’t get it done at this stage. Take the points and the Grizzlies in the Tuesday NBA picks.
