We are now two weeks into the new EPL season and there’s been plenty of drama thus far. Despite only two games being played, it’s safe to assume which teams are going to be contenders this year and which ones are going to be pretenders. With that said Bovada has Arsenal and Liverpool as the EPL co-favorites in 2025. Who will end up winning the title?
Liverpool are the reigning champions and they’re off to a flying start. After winning against Bournemouth to start the season, LFC put together a remarkable performance on Monday to beat Newcastle on the road. The game was tied at 2-2, but Liverpool scored the game-winning goal just before stoppage time ended. They’re now 2-for-2 and the same can be said for the Gunners.
“Winning away at Newcastle, then you definitely need to have quality, especially in an atmosphere like this – not football quality because that’s not what we showed today, apart from the last goal we scored,” manager Arne Slot said. “That looked a little bit like what I see on a daily basis on the training ground. But to have the mentality to fight here in such a hostile stadium, that is definitely something you also need if you want to compete in the end.”
According to the Bovada sportsbook, both Liverpool and Arsenal hold -195 Las Vegas odds to win the Premier League title this campaign. This just goes to show how strong the Vegas oddsmakers think they’re going to perform this year. From our chair, this is a battle that could last until the final weekend of the season. People are split on who will win the title – your guess is as good as ours.
Arsenal is closing in on signing standout CB Piero Hincapie
In a move that could help the Gunners’ chances, Arsenal is closing in on signing standout CB Piero Hincapie. The Ecuadorian central defender has made it quite clear to Bayer Leverkusen that he’s looking for a fresh start elsewhere. Over the summer, he was linked with a potential move to either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid, but nothing materialized there.
Last week, reports surfaced stating that Tottenham was interested in getting him to the EPL. Not so fast, though, as Arsenal saw this and increased its efforts in getting him to North London. Reports out of Ecuador state that Hincapie would prefer a move to the Gunners over Spurs, which is of course incredible news for Arsenal as a whole and manager Mikel Arteta.
🚨🔴⚪️ Piero Hincapié has said yes to Arsenal and personal terms have been agreed, long term deal ready!
Understand Hincapié favors #AFC and also seen as ideal signing by Arteta.

Looking to get in on the betting action too? A reminder that Bovada has some incredible deals that soccer fans can check out with the new season here. That’s right, the Bovada bonus codes and promotions are hard to beat and they’re certainly a positive for people who are new to betting and hoping to get in on the action. We’d recommend doing so much sooner than later.
With Arsenal looking to close the gap on Liverpool, adding a defender like Hincapie would certainly help out with those efforts. He’s been a key part for Ecuador already qualifying for the 2026 World Cup and now he’s ready to make a splash in the Premier League. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal gets this over the line, but plenty of signs are pointing to them doing so.
Don’t forget about Manchester City in the EPL title race
While a lot of the focus is on Arsenal and Liverpool right now, don’t forget about Manchester City in the EPL title race. There’s a totally new look for Pep Guardiola this season, but the fact of the matter is that he’s still one of the best managers out there and the team features some incredible players with strong English Premier League odds. The long list of course includes Erling Haaland, who is tremendous with the ball at his feet.
With so many new strikers making their way to the EPL this offseason, plenty of people have forgotten that he’s a superstar and a threat to find the back of the net whenever he’s on the field. That’s right, Haaland is a generational talent and he’s going to want to remind people of that early and often this season now that he’s a veteran with Manchester City.
City suffered a disappointing loss to Tottenham over the weekend, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that this team is going to make a ton of noise both in the EPL and the Champions League. While a lot of people think the title race will come down to either the Reds or Gunners, it wouldn’t be a surprise at all to see Manchester City in the hunt once May rolls around too. They’re that good.
