After a thrilling Masters Tournament came to an end last week, 43 of the top 50 golfers in the world will look to bounce back by taking part in the RBC Heritage tournament for 2025.
Reigning champion Scottie Scheffler once again is at the front of the pack looking for success in South Carolina, but he will have stiff competition to go back-to-back with a host of in-form players also on the field.
We’ll take a look at the field and pick out the favorites to win the tournament for our best free golf betting picks to see if we can earn you some extra cash for the summer.
The current reigning World No.1 and two-time Masters champion, Scheffler had a fantastic performance in the 2025 Masters tournament last week before ultimately falling to a fourth-place finish at Augusta.
That was despite clearly not being at his best and coming up against an inspired field, but he was eventual winner Rory McIlroy‘s biggest threat for a long time until he faded away. But he comes into the RBC Heritage tournament as the defending champion once again this week, and will look for more success this time around.
Scheffler has averaged 3.13 true strokes gained on the field across his eight career rounds at Harbour Town, and he knows how to win here. But he is yet to win any event he has played in in 2025, and that means there is little value in backing him as the favorite.
Considering the +450 odds, it would be a decent bet to have alongside a longer-odds selection just in case he turns up on the field and proves he’s the best – because that wouldn’t be a surprise. There’s just not enough value to go all out.
A two-time major champion, Morikawa had a relatively disappointing 2025 Masters tournament as he finished T15 at -3.
But it does mean that he comes into this tournament with his streak of not finishing below T17 in any tournament in 2025 intact, and he will feel that he’s due a win in this calendar year.
From a metrics perspective, he is having too good of a season not to get a win, and if there’s a course that fits his style of play more than anywhere else, it has to be Harbour Town.
Morikawa currently leads the PGA tour in driving accuracy and also ranks top in the strokes-gained around the green metric, which will be hugely important on this course ahead of distance and power. The 28-year-old has had chances for victory this season and let them pass him by, but he does know how to win.
There’s plenty to like about this pick, and there is good value in it too at +1000 for a second-favorite, so this is one to certainly consider.
25-year-old Aberg was one of the dark horses at The Masters last week at Augusta, and he didn’t disappoint as he finished in 7th place with a -7 card.
That performance came after having claimed victory at The Genesis, where he gained 10 strokes from tee-to-green for the third-best output of his career to date, meaning he has had a solid 2025 so far by his own standards.
Aberg struggled at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, finishing T22 and at the Players’ Championship he didn’t even make the cut – but he will be hopeful of coming into the RBC Heritage tournament by continuing his form from Augusta to build some momentum.
There is obviously big competition in his way, but he has the skillset to be a threat if people begin to underperform or give him a chance. At +1400, he is one to take a serious look at if you want some longer odds.
Schauffele has had a difficult start to 2025 with injuries, but he is now beginning to look back to his best and that will give him a fine opportunity for success at the RBC Heritage.
Despite no victories in this calendar year, and none since he won The Open in 2024, Schauffele was able to give a good showing of himself at Augusta and finished T8 after getting stronger as the tournament went on.
The 31-year-old hasn’t had the greatest successes in South Carolina in the past, but he’s never been terrible either. In his last two appearances, he has elevated his game and finished 4th and 18th, while also having five rounds of 67 or better in his last eight appearances at Harbour Town.
While there are other people ahead of him in the pecking order, and with good reason, they all have their flaws and reasons to look elsewhere when it comes to betting. That makes an elite player like Schauffele a very intriguing pick for bettors. He has his own red flags, with limited reps being the main factor, but if he gets into his groove then he has every chance of success.
At +1400, he’s the best value bet at the top of the pile and he’s the best pick for victory at the RBC Heritage tournament.
