• What: Deontay Wilder vs. Derek Chisora boxing fight • Where: The O2 Arena in London, England • When: Saturday, April 4 • How to watch: DAZN
Usually whenever heavyweight Deontay Wilder is getting ready to step inside of the ring, people expect him to put on a show and record an impressive win. However, it’s safe to say that he’s no longer in the prime of his career and his best days are behind him. With that said, Deontay Wilder is already an underdog for his next fight vs. Derek Chisora, which shouldn’t be a huge surprise.
The last time Wilder put the gloves on was June 2025, where he was able to post a needed win. Before that, he had suffered multiple consecutive losses, which was downright disappointing. Despite that, let’s not forget that he’s a legend of the sport and Wilder is going to want to remind everyone of it once he takes on Chisora. The pressure is on for him to do so, as this fight is coming in early April.
“I need this fight. I need Derek more than he needs me,” Wilder said during a press conference. “I need to see where I am. I been broken down and rebuilt again. I can’t wait. This is definitely a must-win for me. Not only a win, I need a devastating win, a knockout. That’s what we come to see. We got two beautiful heavyweights up there. You don’t know what to expect.”
According to the best Las Vegas sportsbooks out there, Wilder holds +182 boxing Vegas odds to come away with a win. On the other side of things, Chisora indeed is a strong favorite, as he has been given -210 Las Vegas odds to take care of business. We think this one is going to be much closer than some people might assume. So, who’s going to come away with the win?

Deontay Wilder is our pick to post an upset win over Derek Chisora
This may come as a surprise to some, but Deontay Wilder is our pick to post an upset win over Derek Chisora once they meet on April 4. Call it a gut feeling, but we think that a motivated Wilder is going to do his best to silence the haters and make the necessary moves to catch Chisora off guard. There’s no way this fight goes the distance too – Wilder will make a statement and push for a knockout. Chisora of course is ready to prevent that.
“He (Chisora) throws everything in the kitchen sink,” Wilder said of this upcoming fight in England between the two heavyweights. “You can have the toaster, the blender, everything else. He hits you in places you don’t want to be hit and he don’t care. I told Derek I want you to try and kill me. Because I need that and that’s what he’s going to do. It’s a special moment.”

Bovada, BetOnline and others are consistently putting up special deals, and this will also be the case ahead of this exciting fight.
As of the action between these two heavyweights, plenty of analysts and experts think that Chisora is going to have no issues posting a win. Hey, we’ll give him some credit, as he’s a tremendous fighter and he of course has all the talent in the world to be victorious. It will be interesting to see how things go down in this one, but we’re doubling down with Wilder as our selection to be the winner.
How many rounds will the Deontay Wilder vs. Derek Chisora fight last?
A big question that plenty of people have on their minds is how many rounds will the Deontay Wilder vs. Derek Chisora fight last? From our chair, we don’t think this one is going to be over quickly. Again, plenty of people think that Chisora will barely break a sweat in recording a win, with some even thinking this could be over either in the second or third round. Sorry, not going to happen.
We have a feeling that this could go into the later rounds, potentially into the 10th. This would be great for all of the promoters, as the longer this one lasts, the better it will be for viewing numbers. On top of that, something tells us that if this fight does reach the 10th round, it will be because Wilder is hanging tough with Chisora and he’ll set him up for a brilliant TKO.
Deontay Wilder and Derek Chisorato cover the over for rounds
For now, the over/under has been set at 7.5 rounds, with -110 betting odds for both. We’re surely going with the over here. On top of that, since we don’t think this fight is going to go the distance, we’re also going to pick Wilder to win by a TKO. We’re not exactly sure which round it’s going to come in, but if we had to make an educated guess, we’ll go with the 10th round here.
