In what could be one of the more exciting playoff series this year, the Trail Blazers and Spurs enter tonight’s game two with plenty to prove. The Spurs want to show the league that they are still an elite team by taking a 2-0 lead. The Trail Blazers want to prove that they belong here by tying the series at a game apiece. We like Portland to grab the road victory as they even this Western Conference second-round series.
Trail Blazers must prevent slow start again
Portland trailed 10-2 just four minutes into the first quarter of game one of this series en route to a 116-92 loss to the Spurs. Portland must avoid starting slow for a second straight game if they wish to tie the series with San Antonio. This is the Trail Blazers first appearance past the first-round since 2000, so things could get a little dicey for Portland. They trailed by 26 points at halftime and cannot allow this to happen again.
Spurs can smell blood even though this is only game two
Despite it still being early in the series, the Spurs are close to smelling blood. After a complete dismantling of the Trail Blazers in game one, the Spurs know they hold all the momentum in this series. If they rush out to a quick start in game two, they should have no trouble at all taking a 2-0 lead. A 2-0 for San Antonio could also mean an end to the series before it even gets started.
We visit the online sportsbook found at BetOnline.ag on Thursday night to find the betting odds for Portland and San Antonio from Texas. Despite being seven-point underdogs on the road, we like Portland to grab the victory as we bet 15 percent of our bankroll on the OVER 208 total points scored as they tie the series at one game each.
