The 2024-25 Premier League season wrapped up in late May with Liverpool dethroning Manchester City, who began the season as the four-time defending champions. With their victory, Liverpool is now tied with Manchester United for the most Premier League titles with 20. Arsenal is in third place for championships with 13. Liverpool looks to repeat as champions for the first time since winning three straight titles between 1982 and 1984.
The 2025-26 Premier League season does not begin until August 15, 2025, but early odds have been released for the upcoming campaign, and, judging by the early odds, it appears the race for the title will be between Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City.

Liverpool Look To Repeat (+220)
Liverpool will begin their defense of their title with heavy hearts after 28-year-old forward Diogo Jota died, along with his younger brother, Andre Silva, in a car accident in Spain in early July. Jota was with the team since 2019-20.
Last year, Arne Slot became the fifth manager in Premier League history to win a league title in their first season with their club, and the first to do so since Antonio Conte did so in 2016-17 with Chelsea. Conte only lasted until May 2018 with that club, so the pressure will be on Slot to deliver in his second season with Liverpool.
Last year, Mo Salah led Liverpool and the Premier League in goals with 29, and the 33-year-old was also first in assists with 18. Salah signed a two-year contract extension with the club in April. He joined Liverpool in 2017. Also signing an extension in April was Virgil van Dijk.
No longer with the team is Trent Alexander-Arnold, who had been with the team from 2016-2025. Trent signed with Real Madrid in May.
Liverpool made a record signing of Florian Wirtz recently, paying a €137.5m transfer fee for the 22-year-old who had been with Bayer Leverkusen. He had 16 goals and 15 assists last year.
Arsenal Look To End Run Of Three Straight Runner-Up Finishes (+225)
Arsenal has not won a Premier League title since the 2003-04 season. However, the team has finished in second place five times since then, including a run of three straight runner-up finishes in the past three seasons.
Arsenal has added 26-year-old Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad ahead of the 2025-26 EPL season. A player whom the team has been looking at for some time. It also appears that Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera will be with Arsenal when the season begins in August. The 21-year-old is expected to make his signing official this week.
Kai Havertz led Arsenal in goals last year with nine in 23 games. He missed most of the season with a hamstring injury. Havertz looks as if he has added a fair share of muscle in the off-season.
Two other players who have been mentioned in connection with joining Arsenal for next season are Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres, but neither of these moves has been made official.
Mikel Arteta is Arsenal’s head coach. He has been with the club since 2019. He has 169 wins, 55 draws, and 66 losses with Arsenal.
Manchester City entered the 2024-25 EPL season as four-time champs. However, the team fell short, finishing in third place. The team participated in the Club World Cup this summer, but failed to advance past the Round of 16, losing to Al-Hilal by a score of 4-3. If there’s a positive to come from that early elimination, it’s that it will give the team and head coach Pep Guardiola time to prepare for the 2025-26 Premier League campaign. Guardiola has been with Man City since 2016.
Erling Haaland led the team in goals last year with 22, which put him at No. 3 in the EPL. The team has parted ways with Kevin De Bruyne after nine seasons. Another player who is not likely to be on the team this year is Kyle Walker.
Players that the club has added are Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Aït-Nouri, Omar Marmoush, and Rayan Cherki. Manchester City has been busy making moves, and they look like they will be a very different club at the start of 2025-26.
