The 107th Tour of Flanders is the second monument of the season. This “spring classic” race is well known for its cobblestone sections throughout Belgium.
After a six-year stint in Antwerp, the race returns to Bruges to get things started. The change sets up the longest race in 25 years.
The riders will set out for a comfortable first 100km before encountering the initial cobblestone segment, Huisepontweg, as they approach Oudenaarde.

Before making your bets for the Tour of Flanders event, you will want to ensure you’re using the best sportsbook. There’s no better way to verify that than to check our reviews of popular online sportsbooks.
The top three cycling favorites have quite the rivalry going whenever they get together. During Milan-San Remo, Van Der Poel managed to outpace Pogacar and Van Aert, winning by more than 15 seconds.
Last year at this event, Van Der Poel was able to narrowly finish ahead of Pogacar in a nail-biting ending. He finished just milliseconds ahead of three other riders – Dulan van Baarle, Valentin Madousas, and Tadej Pogacar.
Mathieu van der Poel (+400) has plenty of experience in this race, winning his second Tour of Flanders last year. He will be looking to join an exclusive group of riders who have won this race three times.
Six riders have won the race three times, however, none of them are still racing.
I would recommend against betting on van der Poel to win this again, it seems highly unlikely he’s able to repeat.
Van Aert is another rider seeking redemption against Van Der Poel, albeit for a more recent race than the previous Tour de Flanders editions.
The 2023 Milan-San Remo race was Van Aert’s for the taking, he was the favorite and was predicted to win with ease. However, Van der Poel passed him on the decisive part of the Poggio near the summit.
With that being said and amidst questions regarding Van Aert’s fitness, I would have to recommend against betting on Van Aert to win the 2023 Tour of Flanders.
Pogacar is one of the most accomplished riders in the sport’s history, but the Slovenian has yet to triumph in this race.
However, he came incredibly close last year, before a mistake allowed him to get boxed in by other riders just a few hundred meters before the finish line.
One year later, he gets his opportunity for revenge and to set things straight.
If you’re interested in a cyclist with longer odds, I’d recommend taking a flyer on Van Baarle at +1800 odds.
While it seems unlikely he does win this event, and he did finish as runner-up last year. He is also part of an incredible team Ineos Grenadiers.
Although, none of the star-studded cyclists from Ineos Grenadiers will be racing with Van Baarle. That being said, he will have full support from his teammates at the race.
Van Baarle is a very interesting longshot bet with those odds.
I believe Pogacar is primed for a comeback after a year has passed since his narrow defeat to Van Der Poel.
Although this primary focus is on the Grand Tours season, there’s no doubt that he would relish this opportunity to include the cobbled classic to his resume.
Tadej Pogacar gets his payback and is the best bet to win the 2023 Tour of Flanders at +500 odds.
