With February here at last, online betting sites like Bovada strike back after an excellent 2022 MLS Bets season. Here at VegasBetting, we look at some of the early outfights as the MLS season opens on February 25th. It is great to get back to soccer in North America, as this 2023 season is quite exciting. This article reveals our MLS Early Future Bets for the upcoming campaign. Also, we like Philadelphia for the MLS Cup.
Early 2023 MLS Outrights | ||
---|---|---|
Los Angeles FC | +550 | +460 |
Philadelphia Union | +700 | +650 |
New York City FC | +800 | +830 |
Austin FC | +1000 | +1225 |
LA Galaxy | +1000 | +1075 |
CF Montreal | +1200 | +1275 |
Nashville SC | +1200 | +1375 |
New York Red Bulls | +1500 | +1500 |
Seattle Sounders | +1500 | +1675 |
The competition for the 28th MLS Cup gets underway on February 25th, but honestly, only a few teams have a chance to win the title this year. It was amazing how LAFC ultimately delivered, but wow did Philadelphia give them a huge push? This team is different, to say the least, this season. Pundits think they can go wire-to-wire again. LAFC may not have a chance to repeat in the MLS Early Future Bets for a reason.
The opening numbers come in with some peculiar results. However, LAFC ranges mostly from about +460 to +550. Since what happened last year, things were thought to be almost even. Consider the final took penalty kicks for the MLS Cup to be awarded to LAFC. The MLS Cup finale remains one of the most entertaining matches of all time played in North America.
So, despite the cooler final month of the regular season, LAFC played a full lineup last weekend against Austin FC. That match was no contest. Arguably LAFC won the game by four goals, but one tally was called back due to an offside. Either way, Austin FC had little chance as the better team from the first whistle dominated them.
Now, MLS Early Future Bets answers the biggest question. Can LAFC repeat or will another team steal their thunder err Cup?
There lies a concern that LAFC may get supplanted by Philadelphia or even other teams this season. Los Angeles FC lost a lot in the way of talent. Losing Chico, Bale, Tello, Mendez, Escobar, and Ibeagha a couple of months after becoming MLS champions, is not it? One of the reasons they were favorites to win the MLS Cup was their depth up front. Depth players and a team’s style typically provide hope for a repeat.
Possession helped LAFC along to a point, but that depth provided the scoring. Look at the clutch goals Chico and Bale scored late in their run through the playoffs and then against the Philadelphia Union. The question begs itself. Who will score those goals now? Some forget LAFC even cooled off a bit offensively late before turning it on. Philadelphia led the MLS with 72 goals after a hot second half.
This setup looks more optimal for a team like Philadelphia. The Union locked in on a mission to dethrone the defending champions does not bode well for the rest of the league. Philadelphia’s only real competition in the East may prove to be NYCFC. Now, time will tell on that assertion, but the Union showed they were not just about defense down the stretch.
Philadelphia wants to go a step further when it comes to MLS Early Future Bets. Watch how the Union approaches this early portion of the season. It is hard to believe the season is still 3 1/2 weeks away. As always, there are a few teams that can surprise the stalwarts. However, our early pick takes Philadelphia to win this MLS Cup come November.
MLS Early Future Bets wonders if can NYCFC return to prominence. Remember, NYCFC boasted one of the best teams last year during the first half of the season. Then, injuries and mayhem wrecked the team. Though New York got past Montreal in round number one, they got blitzed in the second half against Philadelphia. With the Union coming so close, the champions from 2021 may be almost an afterthought.
Not surprisingly, his contract is not completely set in stone, but he intends to play for Torque this weekend. It seems salary was the reason and not the term after all. James Sands expects to return to NYCFC for at least one more season. That provides some good news going forward for the faithful. One can never say never to Santi as they are talking, but the past tense tone indicates a reunion is not likely.
For the 2023 MLS Early Future Bets, a flier can be taken on NYCFC. Maybe, waiting a bit could be beneficial here.
What about some other longer MLS Early Future Bets? That is a great question. For starters, Cincinnati intrigues us, especially after last season. What could they have in the tank for an encore? At +2200, they are not too far off the board. One or two players could make a difference.
Once more, the Austin FC team still lurks. Their number sits as high as +1225. Austin plays an entertaining soccer brand and could challenge to win the West, especially if LAFC falls backward, as a few have predicted.
The contention for 2023 MLS Bets is to make room for Inter Miami. Their number might back off some, but one can get as much as +2100 for a team that improved and won ten games at home last season.
Do not forget betting site bonuses to aid the bankroll this month. Good luck!
