With a few surprise drivers eliminated, the second leg presents some new opportunities for drivers not expected to still be in contention. They all come from the Joe Gibbs Team. Add in Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick from 23XI Racing, part-owned by Hamlin. Now, this is where things get interesting. Who does Hamlin protect if it comes down to that?

Now, the Toyota had some issues last year with Martin Truex Jr. Even Chase Elliott from Hendrick had the dreaded blown tire while leading and crashed. Kyle Busch and Christopher Bell were running well until disaster struck, too. It was just a rough race all around. Can a guy like Truex Jr. take advantage of a new lease on life after last week when essentially Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick’s cars eliminated them?
Naturally, with a potential Round of 8 spot there for the taking, there are several cars to take a shot at. It feels like we are headed toward a Phoenix Battle Royal with Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin. First, both drivers have to get past leg number two. Hamlin won last week, Reddick won two weeks ago, and Larson won three weeks ago. Kyle Larson looks poised to take advantage of his 25% win rate on 1.5-mile intermediate tracks.
Online betting site bonuses and boosts are needed for racing this weekend, too. With how good Hendrick has been on intermediate tracks like Texas, there is either Chase Elliott, William Byron, or Kyle Larson. Last year, all were fast in Texas, but none returned with the victory.
Yes, the stage structure (80-85-102) favors drivers that can go fast on the longer runs. Chevy and Toyota seem to enjoy an advantage. Again, we refer to the Hendrick, Joe Gibbs, and 23XI Racing teams. However, Ryan Blaney and Brad Keselowski have finished in the top ten in each of the four races. It will be interesting to see who among the longer shots looks good in qualifying. There may be money to make a small wager or two.
The NASCAR Texas wagers like some more cars. Again, Tyler Reddick is hard to dismiss here at Texas, and even Christopher Bell finished third in 2020 and 2021 before DVP got him last year. Bell at +1200 or even Elliott at +1600 come in as fun choices. In head-to-heads, Chase Elliott is -105 over Ryan Blaney and -12 over Ross Chastain. Both are solid small-money wagers with potential.
