While the calendar may still read 2026, the fact of the matter is that plenty of people in the United States are starting to think about the future and whether or not that future is going to include President Donald Trump. He’s still in the middle of his second term, which should be his last one in office. However, the Donald Trump 2028 election odds leaves the door open for him to run again.
Is this something that’s going to end up happening? Depending on who you ask, someone might say that’s what they’re hoping for, while others might not hesitate in saying that they want him gone as soon as possible. Having said that, Trump has not given a definitive answer on what his plans are, but it would not be a surprise at all if he does seek a third term. So, is he going to end up doing so and surprise so many of us?
“I will say this, so many people want me to do it,” Trump said in a previous interview on potentially making history and running again. “I have never had requests so strong as that. But it’s something that, to the best of my knowledge, you’re not allowed to do. I don’t know if that’s constitutional that they’re not allowing you to do it or anything else.”
According to the best Las Vegas sportsbooks, it indeed feels like the door is being left open, as Trump holds +600 Las Vegas odds to be on the ballot once again for ’28. In order for that to happen, he’s going to have to find a way to somehow change the laws, as no other president has gone beyond the two full terms. With Trump, you never know how things might go down, but this is going to be something to keep a close eye on.

JD Vance is the overall favorite to win the 2028 US election
As we’ve previously reported here at Vegas Betting, JD Vance is the overall favorite to win the 2028 US election. This isn’t a huge surprise, as he has seen his popularity grow of late serving as Trump’ current Vice President. With republicans continuing to show him support, the exception is that he’ll also get a ton of votes if he pushes for the main job. Will he end up doing so?
“I think Vice President Vance would be a great nominee,” Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin told the media at a recent event. “As people speculate on what’s going to happen down the road in 2028, I agree with President Trump and (Secretary of State) Marco Rubio. I think JD Vance would make a great, great presidential nominee.”
Interested in potentially getting in on the betting action too? While normally someone might think about sports betting in terms of putting money down on odds, placing wagers on elections continues to gain popularity. With that, top sportsbooks offer up fantastic bonus codes and promotions around the year, which also includes for different bets on politics.
As for the 2028 U.S. election, Vance indeed is the favorite with his +225 betting odds. From our chair, it’s not going to be a total surprise if he does end up winning the main seat at the White House. However, it could come down to what decision Trump makes. If he does push for a third term, he’ll be on the republican ticket getting ready to run against whoever is on the democratic side. Gavin Newsom is the early favorite for that.
Is Donald Trump going to finish his current term?
While there’s already some focus on 2028, a big question that people have on their minds right now is the following: Is Donald Trump going to finish his current term? As you might have been able to guess, there’s been plenty of speculation there, as controversy seems to follow the president wherever he goes. Because of that, some believe he could end up getting impeached before his second term ends, which would be quite eye-opening.
As things stand, Trump holds -200 odds to close out this term and avoid getting impeached. However, there are also +150 odds for the opposite to be the case and for him to be removed from office. This speaks volumes, as while there’s confidence that he’s going to be in it for the long haul in Washington D.C. leading up to 2028, there’s also still doubt things will finish off with him closing out this second term on his own accord.
For now, Trump remains the leader of the USA and he just welcomed Lionel Messi and Inter Miami to the White House to celebrate their MLS Cup win from this past season. That visit made plenty of headlines. It will be interesting to see how things shape out here, but it’s intriguing knowing that some bettors are placing wagers on him to finish this second term, while others think he could be out of the job before we know it.
