The 2023 Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix is this Sunday, and the race marks the start of the second half of the current season. Max Verstappen has been dominant, and the Dutchman will be looking to win his home Grand Prix for the third year in succession when the action gets underway this Sunday. Can he do it? Let’s give you the answer in our latest Formula 1 betting picks.
Yes, after a brief summer break, Formula 1 is back this weekend, and it’s fair to say the remainder of the season will be coming at us thick and fast.
There will be a staggering ten races taking place across the next 14 weekends in what is a brutal second half of the season.
So far, 2023 has been dominated by Red Bull and Max Verstappen. A Red Bull driver has won all 12 races so far, with Max Verstappen winning ten and Sergio Perez the other two.
Heading into his home Dutch Grand Prix this weekend, Max Verstappen has won the previous eight races. Even by his incredibly high standards of late, that is just ridiculous. So, can anyone stop him from winning again this weekend? Let’s take a look at what the bookmakers think.
We’ve seen it all year, and Max Verstappen has been the favorite to win every race of the 2023 Formula 1 season. Usually, he’s around -300. This weekend, he has broken new ground as the best Formula 1 betting sites have priced Max Verstappen up at -400 to win the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix.
His closest rivals, if you can call them that, are Sergio Perez at +1100, with Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris both at +1600. And if you think the odds on those three are long, Charles Leclerc is a ridiculous +2500 to win the race. And yes, Leclerc will be driving a Ferrari, not a forklift truck!

Moving on from the race briefly, and in the betting to win the 2023 Driver’s Championship without Max Verstappen, that is now a two-horse race. Verstappen’s teammate, Sergio Perez, leads the betting at -400, with Lewis Hamilton next at +275.
There was a time when Fernando Alonso was regarded as the closest rival to Perez. But after a string of disappointing results for Aston Martin, you can now get +3300 on Alonso in this market.
You can bet on Max Verstappen to win at -400 if you wish. He’s won the last eight races, and he also has the added incentive of trying to win in front of his home fans for the third year in succession. What can go wrong?
We all know that if Verstappen turns up and nothing impedes him, he wins the race. But as we’ve mentioned many times before, something will go wrong one day. So we’re not backing him to win at -400.
Instead, we’re looking at the betting to finish on the podium for this race. This market is again dominated by the Red Bulls. Max Verstappen is at -900, with Sergio Perez at -200. Behind the Red Bull duo are Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris, both on +120.
Outside of the four leaders is Charles Leclerc at +225 and Oscar Piastri at +350. The only other realistic contenders are Carlos Sainz, George Russell, and Fernando Alonso, who are all +600.
For our first pick, we’re going for Charles Leclerc. There have been some positive noises coming out of the Ferrari camp in recent weeks, not least from Leclerc himself, who has stated that the team should be looking to overhaul Mercedes and Aston Martin in the race to finish second in the Constructors Championship.
Leclerc finished an impressive third in his last outing in Belgian, finishing 17 seconds ahead of the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton. His improved form, along with the struggles of Mercedes, makes a podium finish for Charles Leclerc look like a good value betting pick.
Call this one more of a gut-feeling pick, but we also like the look of Oscar Piastri. The McLaren car has seen a massive upturn in form in recent weeks, and this has included a fifth place for Piastri in Hungary and a fourth place in England at the British Grand Prix.
Okay, he recorded a DNF in Belgium, but we feel it’s only a matter of time before the Australian stands on the podium, so we’re making Oscar Piastri to finish in the top three our second betting pick of the Dutch Grand Prix.
