The betting favorite to be Time Magazine Person of the Year isn’t a person at all. They say that robots are going to replace us. Based on what the oddsmakers are leaning toward in this instance, that process is progressing rapidly.
Artificial Intelligence, or AI for short, is the betting choice to be Time Magazine’s Person of the Year. You can get a betting line as short as even money at BetUS on AI winning this award in 2025.
Let’s look at the latest lines on this betting market. Remember, odds are always subject to change.
US President Donald Trump and Pope Leo XIV, both with odds of +150, are among top contenders for this award. Tesla, X, and Space-X owner Elon Musk (+400) and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (+800) are others in this betting market with odds shorter than +1000.

The Time Magazine Person of the Year won’t be presented until mid-December. Much can change in terms of world events between now and then. That uncertainty is working to help stoke significant volatility in this betting market.
For instance, Bovada has Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a betting line of +2000 to win the award. However, Betonline and BetUS are both choosing to leave Netanyahu off the board.
Likewise, Betonline is the only major online sportsbook not offering odds on several major personalities. This list includes Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Zelensky, King Charles III, and Robert F Kennedy Jr. Chinese leader Xi Jingping is +1600 at Betonline, and +3000 at Bovada. At the same time, he’s off the board at BetUS.
Singer/activist Taylor Swift is as short as +2000 at both BetOnline and BetUS, and as long as +3500 at Bovada. Actor/announcer/podcaster Joe Rogan ranges from +1000 at BetUS to +2500 at Bovada.

The first winner of Time’s Person of the Year award was aviator Charles Lindbergh in 1927. Let’s look at the top contenders to win the honor in 2025.
Whether it’s ChatGP, Grok, Meta AI, or Google Gemini, artificial intelligence is gaining a foothold in both our conscience and our everyday lives. That fact cannot be debated or ignored.
This being the case, can the impact of AI on society be ignored by such a prominent measure of world events and pop culture as Time’s Person of the Year Award? If you think an inanimate object can’t be named person of the year, think again. Previously, Time recognized both the computer (1982) and the endangered Earth (1988) with the award.
Trump’s rise from the ashes to win a second term as President of the United States is certainly major news around the globe. He joined Grover Cleveland as the only Presidents to win the White House, lose the ensuing election, and then regain the Oval Office in the following election cycle.
His controversial first year back in office is drawing plenty of attention. Without a doubt, how much Trump remains connected to the Epstein files scandal could be a major factor in his chances of winning the award for a third time.
Trump was previously Time Magazine Person of the Year in 2016 and 2024. U.S. presidents have won the award 24 times, more often than any other line of work.
As the first American ever elected to lead the Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV was always going to be big news.

His choices to stand up to Trump and American policy decisions are displaying that the new Pope isn’t playing any hometown favoritism.
Working with the White House on the controversial cost-cutting DOGE program, Musk was front and center from the get-go in 2025. More recently, his departure from the Trump Administration and Musk’s decisions to call out Trump on a number of issues on social media has kept his name in the news.
Musk was Time Person of the Year in 2021.
If you’re someone who doesn’t spend time on the internet following social media influencers, then this one is probably a head-scratcher. MrBeast’s followers remain glued to his YouTube videos, in which he frequently plays host to elaborate challenges and philanthropic efforts.

Is that enough to win this award? Probably not – unless Time were to pander in search of clicks. But a media site would never do that, right?
The Ukrainian President had a prior Time Person of the Year win in 2022. His Oval Office showdown with Trump was a viral video earlier this year. As the leader of Ukraine’s courageous battle against invaders from Russia, Zelensky is a heroic figure.
There are still plenty of variables in play as the end of July nears. If the Epstein files scandal doesn’t go away, or grows worse for Trump, it could potentially end his Presidency. No one saw what was coming for Richard Nixon when Watergate was in its infancy.
Still, it’s difficult to get past the impact that AI is having on all of us. It’s in the news every day. It is the news most days. Considering the impact it’s making on our lives, bet on AI being the Time Magazine Person of the Year winner.
