The women’s curling at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics starts today, and it promises to be a fierce competition with Sweden and Canada looking for the teams to beat.
Team USA is in the mix, although they aren’t one of the betting favorites with the best Vegas sportsbooks.
But with a lot of strong teams likely to be beating each other in the round-robin stage, Tabitha Peterson’s USA team could find a route through to the semi-final, and from there, anything could happen.

The nations will play each other in a round-robin format, with the top 4 qualifying for the semi-finals.
The winners of the semi-finals proceed to the final, with the two losers playing off in a third-place play-off for the bronze medal.
If any teams finish level on wins in the round-robin table, the team that won the head-to-head match between the two-level teams in the round-robin takes the higher position.
The round-robin stage starts today, February 10th, and finishes on February 17th. The playoffs schedule is:-
In the betting to win the 2022 Women’s Curling gold medal, Team Canada is the favorite. They are +260 with the sportsbooks.
They are followed by the defending champions Sweden, who are +275.

The betting is tight though. Next comes Great Britain at +300, with Switzerland completing a tight top 4 at +350.
Outside of those four, everyone else is a long shot. The USA is in this bunch of nations at +1400, joint sixth favorites.

The Swedes are led by Anna Hasselborg, who alongside Sara McManus, Agnes Knochenhauer and Sofia Mabergs, all won gold 4 years ago in Pyeongchang.
They are joined by Johanna Heldin, who makes up the quintet.
In 2018, Sweden finished second in the round-robin table. They were one win behind table toppers, South Korea.
Those top two nations later met in the final, and when it really mattered, the Swedes came through, beating South Korea 8-3 to take the gold.
Despite not being the favorites, I still have the Swedes down as the team to beat.

Team Canada is highly experienced, with three of Team Jones having won gold in the 2014 Sochi games.
