Another food hall has opened at a Las Vegas casino, this time featuring Via Via, which launched on Monday in the stunning Grand Colonnade at The Venetian.

This exciting new food hall celebrates the diverse culinary traditions of New York City, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and more, showcasing seven unique vendors:
All’Antico Vinaio: Renowned as one of the best sandwich shops in the world, this Florentine gem specializes in schiacciata, a chewy Tuscan flatbread layered with a variety of meats, cheeses, vegetables, and decadent spreads, such as truffle and onion porcini cream, along with fresh basil and arugula. They opened a location in the UnCommons development in southwest Vegas last year.
B.S. Taqueria: Chef Ray Garcia, who previously operated a taqueria in Los Angeles, presents his authentic tacos here. After closing his original location, Garcia is back with a Vegas outpost, offering chorizo, chile-rubbed pastor, and carnitas tacos made with freshly pressed heirloom corn tortillas. He is also the mastermind behind the ¡Viva! restaurant in Resorts World.
Close Company: The team behind the acclaimed Death & Co. bar, a pioneer in the modern cocktail scene, introduces Close Company to this food hall, marking its debut on the West Coast.
Howlin’ Ray’s: Bringing the spicy essence of Nashville hot chicken from Los Angeles, Howlin’ Ray’s was founded by chef Johnny Ray Zone and his wife, Amanda Chapman, in 2015. They offer varying levels of heat, from mild to “howlin'” (extreme spice).
Ivan Ramen: Born on Long Island, Ivan Orkin opened two successful ramen shops in Tokyo before expanding to New York City, followed by a recent venture in the U.K. His offerings include not only acclaimed ramen but also inventive izakaya-style dishes.
Scarr’s Pizza: Launched in 2016 by Scarr Pimentel in New York City, this pizzeria crafts its pizza crusts using some flour milled on-site. Scarr’s menu features a variety of pies, including Sicilian, grandma pizzas, and slices, all highly regarded in the New York pizza scene.
Turkey and the Wolf: Chef Mason Hereford, a James Beard Award nominee and New York Times bestselling author, brings his celebrated New Orleans eatery to the food hall. Recognized by Bon Appétit as one of the best new U.S. restaurants of 2017, the menu features inventive dishes, including a chicken pot pie empanada served with tarragon buttermilk.
Via Via adds to the wave of at least five other food halls that have opened on and off the Strip over the past three years, further establishing the trend in Las Vegas. This new venue is part of The Venetian’s ambitious $1.5 billion reinvestment project.

Historic Pastrami Sandwich Spot Expands Beyond California
The Hat, the famous Southern California restaurant known for its pastrami dip sandwiches, is set to open in Las Vegas.
According to Clark County building records, commercial plumbing and grading permits have been approved for The Hat at 6215 S. Rainbow Blvd., near Sobb Avenue, in Spring Valley.

A construction sign indicating the restaurant’s future location can be seen on a chain-link fence enclosing the empty lot.
Six years ago, there were plans for The Hat to open in the same spot, but the project fell through.
The restaurant started in 1951 as a roadside stand in Alhambra, California, and has since expanded to 11 locations across Southern California.
The Spring Valley site will mark its first expansion outside the state.
Wizard of Oz at the Sphere
If the Wizard were here today, he’d be at the helm of Sphere in Las Vegas, where magic is brewing.
Sphere President and COO Jennifer Koester shared, “When audiences leave, their experience is unlike anything else. That’s what excites us about presenting ‘Wizard of Oz’ this August.”
Opening on August 28, the show will let audiences become part of the classic story, with tickets available at thesphere.com starting at $104. The performance will feature a similar seating arrangement to Aronofsky’s “Postcard from Earth” and U2’s concert film, with slight expansions.
Coincidentally, ticket sales launch on Judy Garland’s birthday (June 10). To promote the debut, Sphere has created a striking display featuring the scene of the Wicked Witch of the East’s demise, where the venue appears to have landed on her legs and iconic ruby slippers.
Koester emphasized, “This isn’t just watching a movie; you’ll feel like you’re truly in Oz. You’ll walk the Yellow Brick Road in the tornado with Dorothy.”
More than you can imagine. The Wizard of Oz at Sphere opens August 28. Buy tickets now.
Haptic seats will enhance the immersive experience, allowing viewers to feel vibrations, scents, and even wind as they journey through the film.
Though she didn’t reveal the production cost—estimated at $80 million—Koester noted the film has been condensed to 75 minutes, expanding scenes that had originally been cut.
The timing of the launch takes advantage of the end of summer, aiming to attract families looking for new experiences.
Looking forward, Sphere is open to transforming other films using these innovative techniques, pushing the boundaries of creativity in entertainment.
In essence, Sphere has become Dorothy’s home, and there’s truly no place like it.
