UFC picks for Hall vs. Strickland Fight Night
Updated July 28, 2021
Come July 31, MMA supporters will be ready to see another exciting event take place, with Uriah Hall and Sean Strickland ready to put on a show at the UFC Apex over in Las Vegas. In this article, we have UFC picks for Hall vs. Strickland Fight Night. In addition to that matchup, there are others too that folks won’t want to miss. Who will be ready to be victorious?
Sean Strickland is favored to take down Uriah Hall
When the two middleweights do meet up later this month, Sean Strickland is favored to take down Uriah Hall. This fight has been highly anticipated for a long while now and rightfully so. Strickland will enter this showdown holding a 23-3-0 record, while Hall is 18-9-0 during his UFC fighting days. Both guys will be more than ready to exchange powerful blows with millions of eyes on them.
In his last bout on May 1, Strickland went toe-to-toe with Krzysztof Jotko and the two really provided everyone with a performance to remember. Things ended up going the full three rounds, with Strickland being announced as the winner thanks to a decision. Strickland was fantastic in this one, as was Jotko. In the end, however, Strickland did more than enough to win.
Meanwhile for Hall, he and Chris Weidman danced at UFC 261. Hall reminded everyone of how dominant he can be, as he took down Weidman in the first round via a smooth and powerful knockout. For Hall to be so dominant against Weidman was one thing, but for him to end things in the first round sure turned plenty of heads. It was a great W for Hall in that one.
Per the Las Vegas sportsbooks, Strickland holds -184 UFC odds to take down Hall. Meanwhile, for Hall, he’s got +154 odds. On paper, Strickland should come away with a close win. However, we don’t think that’s going to happen. Believe it or not, we believe that Hall will be able to record an upset victory. Do you agree with us? Can Choi Doo-ho hang on to beat Danny Chavez
Elsewhere in this Fight Night, can Choi Doo-ho hang on to beat Danny Chavez when the featherweights enter the octagon? That’s a primetime question folks can’t wait to find out the answer for. These two guys may not be the biggest in the world, but don’t let their size fool you: they pack a mean punch. Doo-ho checks in at 5-8, 145 pounds, while Chavez is 5-7, also 145 pounds.
Chavez is 11-4-0 in his career and Doo-ho is 14-4-0. This really has what it takes to be a back-and-forth affair. The Vegas oddsmakers believe that, as Doo-ho has been handed -130 odds, but Chavez isn’t that big of an underdog with his +108 odds. With those odds, one would believe that it could go either way. Both Chavez and Doo-ho know they must be focused if they want to win.
“I do believe I’m still up there skill-wise,” Doo-ho said. “I don’t believe those guys at the top 15 are way better than me. I think I’m at that level. As long as I train hard and keep myself healthy, I’ll be up there again. Compared to when I had my three-fight winning streak, I feel way stronger, way better. I improved so much.”
As you can see from the quote above, Doo-ho is fired up for this one, as he wants to get back to basics and showcase his strong form. Will he be able to do so? We’ll see, but here at Vegas Betting, we think that Chavez will actually be the one to get the better of Doo-ho and have his hand raised in victory by the official here. Yup, we’re going with Chavez as our pick.
Last but not least, Nicco Montano is expected to take down Yanan Wu in a women’s bantamweight showdown. Montana is 5-3-0 during her fighting career, while Wu has a little more experience at 11-4-0. Despite Wu’s experience with the gloves on, Montana really has impressed whenever she’s gone to battle. Because of her speed and power, she’s been a nightmare for opponents.
Vegas knows just how great she can be fighting, which is why they’ve given her -174 odds. As for Wu, she knows that she’ll be the underdog going up against Montano with her +146 odds. You better believe that this will surely motivate her to prove all of her doubters wrong. Not many are giving Wu a chance to come away with an upset victory in this one.
We think she sure has a great chance. At these UFC Fight Night’s, we’ve seen plenty of upsets going down. There’s no reason to believe that Wu can’t get the job done and takedown Montano. We think that will happen, as Wu is our pick to be the victor for this one. It won’t be easy for her, as Montano will not be walked all over. Still, Wu will be ready to roll in this one. We think she’ll win.
