Week 13 of the NFL schedule continues on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 1:00 PM ET at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas when the Houston Texans host the New England Patriots. With the Texans heading in the wrong direction and doing so quickly, it is difficult to bet for them on any given Sunday. But, with the Patriots coming to town this weekend, it is nearly impossible to bet for them on Sunday so we will back the Patriots on the road.
New England Patriots: Clicking late in the season
New England is finally begin to play football the way their fans have been used to over the past decade-plus. With a less-than-stellar receiving corps, Tom Brady has had to shoulder most of the load this year. Now, he has come to rely on a couple of receivers who make big plays almost every week. This should help the Patriots secure the AFC East title en route to another playoff appearance under the leadership of Bill Belichick.
Houston Texans: Disastrous season continues to get worse
This season could not get any worse for the Texans, but then you look at the schedule and see the Patriots coming to town on Sunday. With an unknown situation at quarterback, the Texans have not been able to get into a rhythm yet this year. Houston is in the midst of a nine-game losing streak and have averaged just 15.3 points-per-game during that stretch. The Texans have just one win at home against five losses.
