As the week 13 season continues in the NFL on Sunday, December 1, 2013, the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets collide at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. These two AFC East teams enter the contest with identical 5-6 records and sit in second in the division behind the New England Patriots by three games. Both teams still have a shot at the Wild Card spot, but need a lot of help. We will back the Dolphins on the road Sunday.

Miami Dolphins: In desperate need of a win

After leading for almost the entire game at home last week against the Carolina Panthers only to lose, the Dolphins desperately need a win against the Jets on the road Sunday. The Dolphins led 16-6 at halftime of that game, but wound up losing by a score of 20-16 after a late touchdown by the Panthers. It was the eighth straight game that the Dolphins were held to less than 23 points, in which they have played to a record of 2-6.

New York Jets: Ugly on offense all year

New York has been horrendous on offense this season and it all starts with rookie quarterback Geno Smith, who has been dismal each week. He threw two more interceptions on Sunday in a 19-3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The Jets were held to just 220 yards of offense, a season-low for New York. Head coach Rex Ryan is planning to stay with Smith under center, despite his immense struggles. The Jets will need to win Sunday in order to stay alive in the playoff hunt.

Game lines for Sunday’s NFL contests are found this week at and their sportsbook. Despite being the underdogs on the road, we will back the Dolphins to upend the Jets in week 13 action. We will place 15 percent of our bankroll on Miami and the +105 money line on Sunday afternoon.
