The 2022 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix took place over the weekend in Miami, Florida and it was once again one of the best events of the year. Max Verstappen won the event for back-to-back victories, showing that he’s once again racing at his highest level. With many more Formula 1 events coming in the near future, it’s time to start looking at the best bets and odds for the Spanish Grand Prix, which is going to take place at the end of May.
The Spanish Grand Prix is 66 laps, with a race distance of 308.424 KM. The lap record is held by Max Verstappen as he finished in just 1:18.149 back in 2021.
Practice is going to start on May 20th and will end on the 21st. The qualifiers will take place on May 21st, and the race will be on the 22nd. It will take place at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain.
Odds For The Spanish Grand Prix 2022
Bovada and other sportsbooks have released the odds, but expect changes to the odds within the coming days.
Below, we will take a look at the best racers that will compete at the event that bettors should think about putting money on.
With his win at the Miami Grand Prix, Verstappen has only solidified himself as the best racer in the world.
The 24-year-old Belgian-Dutch racer won the 2021 Formula One World Championship and multiple other prestigious events in the past few years.
Verstappen, who debuted in Formula One as the sport’s youngest ever participant at the age of 17, pushed his car, his opponents, and the sport’s record books to their limits. Racing is in his blood as he’s the son of former Formula One driver Jos Verstappen and super-fast karting mother, Sophie Kumpen.
With a world championship under his belt at the age of 24, there’s no knowing where he’ll be in a few years.
Max dominated the karting world at an early age, capturing national, international, and world titles. He then switched to single-seaters for the 2014 season, competing in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship, after reaching the required age.
Max won ten races against more experienced opponents on his way to third place overall in the championship. Max, who joined the Red Bull Junior Team in August and was named as a 2015 race driver for Toro Rosso, had planned his next step long before the end of his rookie single-seater season.
He currently has 23 victories and 18 fastest laps under his belt.
Sainz had a great showing at the Miami Prix, and although he didn’t win the event, coming in third place is no slouch.
Sainz quickly demonstrated his fighting spirit after visiting F1’s Bull Ring in 2015 with Toro Rosso’s Max Verstappen. He’s a tenacious racer who pushes the car to its limits as he works his way through the pack. It’s no surprise that Sainz is known as Chilli.
The Spaniard, on the other hand, is both intellectual and instinctive and can think his way through a race and into the points. Off the track, he’s one of the more well-known racers in the world.
Sainz is the son of multiple World Rally Champion Carlos Sainz, who also shares his name, and has applied some of his father’s racing skills to the Formula One circuit.
Similar to Carlos Sainz, Sergio Perez also had a great weekend at the Miami Grand Prix, despite not winning the event. Perez finished in fourth place, which is nothing to hold his head over.
Perez is a slick operator who excels at manipulating tires to extract more performance and provide him with a strategic advantage. Following stints with Sauber, McLaren, Force India, and Racing Point, Perez has developed into a cerebral racer and team player.
He contributed significantly to Max Verstappen’s championship-winning campaign in 2021, while also contributing to his personal score. More victories are unlikely, especially with Verstappen as a teammate, but Perez is committed to working hard and racing with his heart.
The 24-year-old British racer has won multiple races and finished in fifth place in the Miami Prix, showing he’s here to stay and possibly win the Spanish Grand Prix.
Russell replaced Valtteri Bottas to Mercedes in 2022, joining seven-time world driver champion Lewis Hamilton.
Russell finished fourth in his maiden race as a full-time Mercedes driver. He finished third in his 63rd race, the 2022 Australian Grand Prix, after starting sixth on the grid.
George finished on the podium for the first time in Formula One at the rain-affected Belgian Grand Prix in 2021, following a remarkable qualifying performance that saw him take P2 on the grid and the podium.
George scored four more points, putting Williams Racing in eighth place overall in the Constructor’s Championship.
