NBA action on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 features the Los Angeles Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Tip-off between these struggling teams is scheduled for 10:30 PM ET. Something will have to give tonight when these two teams meet since the Cavaliers have just three road wins and the Lakers are 1-9 in their last 10 games played. We are going to back the visiting Cavaliers to win this contest on Tuesday night.

Cleveland Cavaliers: Coming off lopsided loss

Cleveland suffered the most lopsided loss in the NBA this season when they dropped at 124-80 decision to the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. Cleveland has not had much to celebrate this season, which is why tonight’s game will be an ugly one to watch. The loss was the fifth time in seven games that the Cavaliers were held to under 87 points of offense. In their last 10 games played, the Cavaliers are just 3-7 and are just 3-16 overall on the road. Luol Deng is still getting used to the offensive gameplan in Cleveland.

Los Angeles Lakers: One of league’s worst teams

In the midst of a 1-9 span, the Lakers have dropped to 14-23 overall and are 8-10 at home this year. The Lakers have lost their last four games, including an embarrassing 123-87 loss to their city rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers, on Friday. The Lakers have also lost 10 of their last 11 games. Nothing seems to be going right for the Lakers this season, whether they are with or without Kobe Bryant. Los Angeles will need to play a complete game tonight to beat the Cavaliers.

We find the betting odds for tonight’s NBA contest over at, where the Cavaliers are 3.5-point favorites to win the game on the road. We are going to bet 10 percent of our bankroll on the Cavaliers to secure the victory over the Lakers at -3.5 (-110).
